What is actually safe to spend this month?
Three questions you already know the answers to. One number you probably do not.
Income
Bills
Savings
What lands in your account
After tax and anything deducted from your paycheck. If your pay varies, use a month you would call typical — not your best one.
Enter your take-home pay to continue.
How the number is worked out
Take-home pay, minus fixed bills, minus minimum debt payments, minus your savings goal. What remains is discretionary. Divided by the days in the month, that is your daily figure.
There is no secret adjustment and no quiet buffer taken off the top. If we shaved a percentage for safety without telling you, the number would stop being yours — and the entire premise of SafeSpend is that the limit is one you chose.
If the goal does not fit the income, the calculator says so rather than producing a cheerful figure that breaks in week three.
